THE revival of champions Glasgow Hawks hit the buffers in a dramatic finale against Hawick at Mansfield Park. Hawks had two men in the sin-bin - John Fitzpatrick and Greg Francis - when Greg Thomson pounced for the clinching try in the ninth minute of stoppage time. Colin Murray added the conversion to his earlier penalty. Fitzpatrick's score, goaled by Murray Strang, had looked like being enough to keep Hawks in front when it mattered, but then came Thomson's winner. Hawks supremo David Wilson has tried to drum the importance of discipline into his side following the opening day red-carding of Stevie Biggart. But his preachings seem to have fallen on deaf ears.
