Hawks beat a stuffy Berwick side 84-0 in heavy conditions at Old Anniesland to progress in the Scottish Cup
Blacks hammered by Hawks
GLASGOW HAWKS ......84
BERWICK .........0
BERWICK had the unenviable task of travelling to Old Anniesland for a Scottish Cup fifth round tie on Saturday.
The Blacks haven't had the best of seasons, struggling to find their form in Premier Three, so a trip to take on Glasgow Hawks, who have won Premier One for the past three years, was a daunting one indeed.
And so it proved with the Hawks putting Berwick to the sword, their 84-0 victory setting up a sixth round clash against Heriots.
Berwick, who went down 31-0 a week earlier at home to Musselburgh, have only won four league matches so far this season - all at home - to Kirkcaldy, Ellon, Murrayfield and Cambuslang, whilst they have also drawn with Perthshire.
They now only have three games left to play in Premier Three, the first of which is away to Peebles this weekend.
Meanwhile, the club is preparing to stage their annual 'sevens' tournament on Sunday, April 15 which will be even bigger and better this year. There will be a youth game before the final, all the leading Borders clubs will be present with their senior sevens squads and leading teams from Edinburgh and Newcastle will also be present
