This Saturday Hawks welcome the men from Laigh Bent
As always its good to see the Maxtons return as it gives your scribe the chance to drag out archive footage yet again
Pictured are John and Richie who both served Anniesland rugby well albeit a few years apart and in different colours
John lined up for Glasgow Accies alongside Waddell and Simmers( for the avoidance of any doubt the 1960s version not the 1920s partnership)
Here he is seen playing against the likes of Percy Friebe ,Hamish Kemp and Andy Little on Old Anniesland
Richie is captured as in Anniesland parlance " leaping like a salmon "in the 2004 Cup Final v Dundee HSFP
Richie played for Hawks during their League winning sequence having joined us from Stewarts Melville
Another familiar face is Hamilton assistant coach Stuart Eynon who played a long innings at West before moving from Burnbrae to Laigh Bent
