What do they know of cricket

The Battle of Waterloo may not have actually been won on the playing fields of Eton despite Wellington having raised an All Ireland X1 to play The First of Foot but the cricket analogy lives on in the form of Saturdays challenge match
when an All Hawks X1 play the good and true men of GHK at Old Anniesland

With the words of Vita Lampada ringing in their ears
"An hour to play and the match to win
A bumpy pitch and a blinding light
Ten to make and last man in" the two elevens will see it through

Hawks have men in their ranks who are familiar with " the chain" the slips and the outfield men like Little ,Strang, Leckey Adamson Henderson who are tried and tested with leather on willow

Saturday will see straight batters take on demon bowlers all for the sake "ludere causa ludende "so play up play up and play the game
The challenge commences at 1.00 pm on the green sward of Old Anniesland
