Dear Supporter,
 
We have now arrived at the end of the year with our third encounter against GHK. We have lost both games but our last performance tested GHK considerably (GHK remain unbeaten this season) and we equipped ourselves well.  This week has not been the perfect preparation, no playing surface to practice on, and a late training call off last night.  
 
Despite Christmas exams for some students we have a more than capable team to match GHK in the semi final of the Shield, a knock out match, and that should engender the winning spirit if anything else is needed to raise your game against GHK!!
 
This week sees a fairly changed team but all players are familiar with Accies 1st XV rugby and the playing objectives of coach, Ewan Smith. Cammy McCall moves to full back, young Harry Walker slots in at inside centre with captain, Stewart Smith at No. 10 being fed from scrum half Robert Beattie. In the pack our very versatile forward pack leader, Elliott McLaren moves in at hooker supported by Chris McAlpine and Fabio; Graeme Simpson takes the No.8 spot with flankers Andy Jackson and Chris Wright in support.  Michael Walker returns at 2nd row.
 
This week the game will kick off at 3pm under the lights so there should be time for the pitch to thaw out, however there will be a morning pitch inspection so check the web site and emails for confirmation.  Your support will be greatly appreciated by the boys and let’s make a win a memorable Christmas present for Ewan Smith and the boys.
 
There will be the usual Boxing Day activities with a pre match lunch for all at 12.30, and please let me know as soon as possible for likely numbers as catering arrangements have to be made early.  This is followed by the Exiles game at 2pm, a possible crocks game v GHK, and evening party and dance – see Richard McKnight and Stu Smith for tickets.
